Roll Bag Accuracy: Cleaner Release, Smarter Aiming (Do This First)

Summary: You don’t need a new grip. You need a repeatable cue, a consistent landing zone, and a way to call when not to roll.
One release cue that scales
- “Door‑knob, pinky‑up” wrist finish to keep the bag upright and reduce side spin.
- Elbow leads, wrist snaps last. Avoid early wrist—early wrist = floaty knuckleballs.
- Load beads into the palm; don’t pinch the corner.
Aim plan that forgives
- Pick a 6–8 inch target before the blocker’s nose. Roll starts early; don’t aim at the hole.
- If the blocker is tall, aim even earlier and add speed. Low blocker? Soften speed.
- If your last two rolls cut right, cue a micro left‑bias aim to square it.
When NOT to roll
- Wet boards, or super‑fast finishes where the bag skates—push instead.
- When behind in the round with two bags left—take the guaranteed slide and push.

Drills that translate fast
- 10 reps: roll over a towel “blocker” from 7, 9, and 11 feet.
- 10 reps: alternate roll/push on command to control decision‑making.
- 10 reps: no‑roll round—only flat slides to reset mechanics.
